Affiliate Marketing
Your affiliate links might need some help 🫶🏻
You set them up correctly. Products went out of stock. Retailers changed. And now those links are quietly costing you every single day.
Hey [first name]!
Affiliate links are one of those things that most content creators set up once, add to their posts and social profiles, and then basically forget about.
And that’s exactly where the money gets lost.
What we find almost every time we do an affiliate audit
Links pointing to products that are out of stock or discontinued |
Links going to retailers that no longer carry the item |
Mismatches between affiliate links on the blog post and the social posts for the same recipe |
Links to retailers with poor fulfillment — meaning even if someone clicks, they may not buy, which hurts your conversion rate over time |
None of this is the creator’s fault. They linked it correctly when they posted it. Products go out of stock. Retailers change. Amazon listings disappear. It’s just the nature of affiliate marketing — it requires maintenance, not just setup.
A few things we check for that make a real difference.
| ✓ |
Product availability
Before any link goes live, especially on Amazon, verify the product is actually in stock and not marked as “temporarily unavailable.” A click to an out-of-stock page converts at basically zero.
| ✓ |
Retailer consistency
If you’re linking the same product across a blog post, an Instagram caption, and a TikTok, are all three links going to the same place? Inconsistency is confusing and splits your data so you can’t tell what’s actually working.
| ✓ |
Retailer quality
Not every retailer that shows up in an affiliate search result is one you want associated with your brand. We always vet for reliability before recommending a retailer swap — your conversion rate and your reputation both depend on it.
| ✓ |
Platform match
Different platforms have different disclosure rules. TikTok requires specific language. Your blog does too, but it looks different. Getting this right protects you legally and builds trust with your audience.
| ✓ |
The right tool for your workflow
We recently migrated a client from one affiliate platform to another specifically because the management workflow was eating hours every month that didn’t need to be spent. The right tool for your workflow is as important as the right product to promote.
Affiliate income is one of the most passive revenue streams a content creator can build. But only if the foundation is solid.
| |
A broken link from two years ago is quietly costing you every single day. This is one of those things that doesn’t hurt until you add it up — and then it hurts a lot.
